Maybe you’ve heard of Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), and you’re curious. Maybe this headline has you thinking “What??”. In our office, we casually refer to this type of procedure as “pellet therapy”.
If you’re experiencing …
- Foggy Thinking
- Low Mood
- Anxiousness
- Thinning Hair
- Excessive hair on the face and arms
- Thin or dry skin
- Low sex drive
BHRT might be something for you to bring to your provider.
Hormone pellets are tiny “packets” about the size of a grain of rice. These pellets are inserted under your skin, in the buttock where they release a consistent dose of hormones as they dissolve. Pellets contain a natural plant source of estrogen and/or testosterone. A compounding pharmacist, using strict federal guidelines, compounds the estrogen and testosterone utilized in the pellets.
Many of our own staff have found relief from the effects of hormonal imbalance through pellet therapy. The procedure isn’t for everyone, but it has helped many women feel like themselves again after experiencing postpartum depression, menopause, or after having a hysterectomy.
The Fertility and Midwifery Care Center is very excited to be able to offer this as an option to our patients. If this is something that interests you, send us an email at patientaccounts@fertilityandmidwifery.com or call the office at (260) 222-7401.
