Nicole Bobay

Physical Therapist

I am a Fort Wayne native and 1991 graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School. Graduating magna cum laude with a BS in Biology in 1995 from the College of Mount Saint Joseph, I was a dual-sport athlete (basketball and fast-pitch softball) all 4 years. In 2001, I earned my Master of Physical Therapy degree from Andrews University, and my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation (CSCS) shortly after. In 2002, with a desire to be closer to my family, I was led back to Fort Wayne for my first employment opportunity. Early in my career, in addition to working full-time as a Physical Therapist, I spent my free time volunteering as a Firefighter/EMT for New Haven Adams Township EMS.

I invested my first seven years of practice in an outpatient orthopedic setting, treating general musculoskeletal conditions. A lifelong learner, I continued to study and hone my manual therapy skills, becoming a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist (CIMT).

In 2009, a close friend’s traumatic tailbone injury ignited my interest in pelvic physical therapy and my eventual specialization in this area. I later began post-graduate coursework in pelvic physical therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), eventually earning my Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Health (CAPP). I continued to earn my Women’s Health Clinical Specialist certification (WCS) in 2012, the highest certification a pelvic physical therapist can achieve. Awarded “Best in Patient Care” through the American Health Council in 2018, I am humbled to say that I am among the most accomplished physical therapists in the country.

Today I continue to work in the pelvic rehabilitative realm with women who struggle with chronic pain disorders such as pelvic pain, painful intimacy, urinary incontinence, urinary frequency/urgency, chronic constipation, and pelvic organ prolapse. I treat patients who have unresolved low back or hip pain after failed prior treatments, often finding the root cause in treatable pelvic floor-related conditions. I work with pregnant patients who are struggling with back, hip, sacroiliac, and pelvic discomfort during and after their pregnancies. I also treat a multitude of post-surgical patients, helping women recover from a cesarean birth, urogynecological and colorectal surgeries (hysterectomy, laparoscopic surgeries, pelvic organ prolapse repairs, hemorrhoid surgeries, colostomy reversals, etc.). In addition, I treat male patients with pelvic issues, especially those who are having groin pain, anal pain, genital pain, urinary incontinence, urinary urgency/frequency, and pre- and post-prostatectomy rehabilitation.

Using a neuroscience (mind-brain-body-spirit) approach, I am passionate about educating my patients and the community regarding how the pelvic floor functions in relationship to the whole body. I have been a guest lecturer for the Fellowship of Christian Counselors, NorthEastern group, WBCL, and several area churches. I have also enjoyed hosting evening seminars with FMCC on topics involving the core, the pelvic floor, and so much more!

Currently serving on the leadership and music ministry teams for Cursillo in the Fort Wayne/South Bend Diocese, I am an active parishioner at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. My love of music is evident as I sing and play guitar for the “In His Service” praise/worship team for healing services at Our Lady of Good Hope Parish. With my heart towards service, I am also the Volunteer Coordinator of the Physical Therapy department at Fort Wayne’s Matthew 25, a Medical/Dental clinic for low-income, uninsured patients.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, bible study, golf, walking and riding my bike along the river, and especially, quality time with friends and family.

We at FMCC couldn’t be happier that Nicole decided to join our team, allowing us to offer her decades of experience to our patients.Â
