Marissa Perkins

Physician Assistant

I am originally from Huntington, IN and have lived in downtown Fort Wayne since 2020 with my husband, Ryan. We met at Anderson University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with minors in Spanish and Psychology. I am deeply grateful for the professors and mentors that shaped me and taught me about the integration of faith and science at AU.

Prior to my Physician Assistant (PA) schooling at Trine University, I worked alongside doctors as a medical scribe in family medicine and in the emergency department. I loved my women’s health rotation during school but wanted to experience the diverse and challenging atmosphere of emergency medicine as a new graduate prior to specializing. As an emergency medicine PA, I was fortunate to care for diverse patient populations, and I especially loved taking care of women and issues specific to women’s health during a stressful time in the patient’s life.

I met Dr. Stroud through a consultation while working in the ER and knew I wanted to be a patient at FMCC (and eventually work there)! I love FMCC’s holistic, personalized, and empowering approach of finding the root cause of dysfunction within the body. I am grateful and excited to use my clinical skills to work as a women’s health PA alongside other amazing physicians and providers.

Outside of work, I love spending time with Ryan, family, friends, and my church community. I enjoy reading and running, and I am in clubs for both! I am also passionate about the environment and love traveling to the National Parks as much as possible.Â
